June 2010:
Change in official registered address of IBMA

The results of our e-mail election consultation in February 2010 to approve the Executive Committee proposition to change the headquarters of IBMA from France to Switzerland were;
Total IBMA members = 159
Total active(voting) members = 121
Total votes received and registered = 50
Votes in favour of proposition = 49 (one abstention)

New "official" registered address and headquarters of IBMA Global:

This office gives us a base for small meetings (up to 8 persons) and is ideally situated mid-way between airport and main town in Bale, on tram and bus routes.
Tram / Bus stop: Schutzenhaus. Tram lines 1 or 8 (direct from the railways station) or
Bus 33 or 34, Bus 50 ( direct from Airport): stop "Brausebad".

New head of Semiochemicals Professional Group

Robin Sheppard (previously Agrisense), head of IBMA Semiochemicals Professional Group has, after many years of loyal and dedicated service decided to step down.
We are pleased to announce that following a call for candidates, Antonella Acuri from Suterra LLC has now taken over this position. Antonella has a 10+ year experience in regulatory affairs issues at Italian, European and global level. Before joining Suterra in 2007, she had collaborated with BASF Italia and with Isagro.

Announcing the Appointment of the IBMA Executive Director

At the request of a majority of IBMA members during the General Assembly in October 2008 it was decided that IBMA needed to employ an Executive Director to help in the management and promotion of our Association.
At the General Assembly in October 2009, the Triumvirate was able to announce that a suitable candidate has been found for this position. We are now in a position to confirm that the David Cary has been appointed as Executive Director.
David Cary is an entomologist, coming to us from a member company where as Market Development Manager he had a wide experience in managing and promoting the use of biocontrol products, liaising and lobbying with regulators, supermarkets and other stakeholders.
He is currently employed on a fixed contract basis for one year, until further funding can be obtained to ensure that this position can be retained.
David will work on a number of projects with the assistance of Ulf Heilig (Regulatory Consultant to IBMA), Sara Chatham (General Secretary), and Members of the Executive Committee under the guidance of the President and Triumvirate on projects that have been proposed and approved by the Executive Committee.
